November 30, 1982 is a day that will forever go down in history as “Thriller Day.” On this day, Michael Jackson released what would become the best selling album of all time. The album is estimated to have sold between 51 to 65 million copies worldwide according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
No other album has completely influenced pop culture the way Thriller has in terms of style and musical appeal. Black hats, white gloves, and silver socks are unequivocally linked to the King of Pop and his iconic dance moves such as the moonwalk, which he introduced to the world during his performance of “Billie Jean” at the the Motown 25 Anniversary in 1983 elevated the course of musical choreography. Every song on the album is pure fire and to this day people of all cultures know the significance and brilliance of Thriller.
